He started his career as a stand-up comedian and later moved into television, where he found success with his own variety show, "The Dick Van Dyke Show," which ran from 1961 to 1966. "I'm not sure how much longer I'll be around," he added, "but I'm going to keep going as long as I can. I love making people laugh, and I'm not ready to give that up yet."
