Lions Advance To NFC Title Game With 31-14 Victory

The Detroit Lions have advanced to the NFC Championship Game after defeating the Green Bay Packers 31-14 on Sunday. The Lions were led by quarterback Matthew Stafford, who threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns. Running back D'Andre Swift also had a big day, rushing for 105 yards and a touchdown.

Lions Dominate First Half

The Lions jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first half and never looked back. Stafford threw a touchdown pass to tight end T.J. Hockenson in the first quarter and another to wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown in the second quarter. Swift also added a 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Packers Make A Run In The Third Quarter

The Packers cut the lead to 17-14 in the third quarter with a touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to wide receiver Davante Adams. However, the Lions responded with a field goal by kicker Austin Seibert to extend their lead to 20-14.

Lions Seal The Win In The Fourth Quarter

The Lions put the game away in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard touchdown run by running back Jamaal Williams and a 25-yard field goal by Seibert. The Packers were unable to score again and the Lions went on to win 31-14.

Stafford Leads Lions To Victory

Stafford was the star of the game for the Lions. He completed 26 of 39 passes for 283 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 27 yards on four carries.

"I'm just so proud of this team," Stafford said after the game. "We've worked so hard all year and we're finally starting to see the results."

Swift, Williams Provide Balance

Swift and Williams provided a nice balance to the Lions' offense. Swift rushed for 105 yards on 23 carries and Williams added 58 yards on 15 carries.

"It's great to have a running game that can take some of the pressure off of Matthew," Swift said. "We were able to control the clock and keep the Packers' offense off the field."

Lions Advance To NFC Title Game

With the win, the Lions advanced to the NFC Championship Game where they will face the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers defeated the Dallas Cowboys 23-17 on Saturday.

"We're excited to be going to the NFC Championship Game," Stafford said. "We know it's going to be a tough game, but we're confident that we can win."
