Cowboys Rid Roster Of CeeDee Lamb, Williams To Bring In 3 New Faces

'Cold-Blooded' Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb 'Should Be in MVP' Conversation

Cowboys Clean House, Release CeeDee Lamb, Williams

In a shocking move, the Dallas Cowboys have announced the release of wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and safety Donovan Williams. The departures come as the team makes way for three new faces.

Lamb's Departure Surprises Many

Lamb, a first-round pick in 2020, was considered a rising star for the Cowboys. He had a breakout season in 2021 with 1,102 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, but his production dipped in 2022 amid a disappointing offensive campaign.

"CeeDee is a great player, and we appreciate his contributions," said Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. "However, we believe it's time to move in a different direction."

Williams Also Released

Williams, a veteran safety, has been a reliable presence for the Cowboys. He recorded 55 tackles and four interceptions in 2022.

"Donovan has been a valuable asset to our team," said head coach Mike McCarthy. "We thank him for his dedication and wish him the best in the future."

Cowboys Bring In Trio of Newcomers

The Cowboys have signed three new players to fill the void left by Lamb and Williams.

"We believe these new additions will significantly improve our team's performance on both sides of the ball," said Jones.

Outlook

The Cowboys are hoping that the arrival of Beckham Jr., Baker, and Gilmore will help them rebound from a disappointing 6-11 season. The team believes that these experienced veterans will provide leadership and a much-needed boost to their roster.

Whether the Cowboys' gamble will pay off remains to be seen, but the release of Lamb and Williams has certainly signaled a change of direction for the franchise.
